My month in Oz: thanks everybody!

This will – probably – be one of the last posts on this blog. So this is the time to thank everyone for helping me, for entertaining me, for hosting me, for guiding me, for taking me out, for taking care of me and making my trip so ‘au-some’.

Grindr: barometer for homophobia

As I pointed out earlier not everything is in Australia as gay as in Dorothy’s Oz. On my tour, I found Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney to be gay friendly. Maybe Brisbane too. Outside these ‘gay islands’, it’s a different story.

If you feel I’m a slave to my iPhone, think again. Australians are attached to their smartphone and the iPhone is very popular. Of course the Aussies don’t have to buy the iPhone straight out as we Belgians do. They get a contract and they pay it off every month, together with the telephone and internet service.
