Newcastle, the place, not (only) the film

After Townsville and Magnetic Island I’ll be spending five (including transfers) days in Newcastle. It might seem a long time in a not so large and not so touristic city, but I’m confident Luke will show me around. We’ll do a trip to the Hunter Valley vineyards too.

At first, I planned to skip Newcastle as Andrew will be in Sydney and Luke in Melbourne. But after seeing the surf film Newcastle with naked Xavier Samuel I decided to give this industrial town a chance. Other possibilities were Tasmania or Blue Mountains, but I have a budget to watch.

So granted, Newcastle is not my first choice. But I’m sure I will be pleasantly surprised. Luke also convinced me it has fabulous beaches. I can’t wait to see for myself!
