Queensland Floods: Should I go to or should I skip Brisbane?

The 2010-2011 Queensland floods are reaching state capital Brisbane. The water has killed already a few people and more than 70 are unaccounted for, says Premier Anna Bligh. While the floods are dramatic for the people of Queensland, I have no choice but to consider skipping my visit to Brisbane.

The big question is how much longer the floods will affect the area. It could last a few days, even weeks. And then there’s the aftermath.

At the moment, I believe I should go to Brisbane anyway. I scheduled to arrive in Brisbane on the 19th of February, which is still more than a month away. I booked Wicked, I have a flight to Townsville from Brisbane and I want to meet Niccy, David, Justin and if we can him, Blake. Maybe other Queenslanders too.

It can’t stay this bad. Fingers crossed.

In the mean time, I hope this disaster ends quickly so the build-up can start. I also hope there will the least possible casualties.
