Wicked at Brisbane’s Queensland Performance Arts Center (QPAC)

Wicked, the untold story of the witches of Oz, is both a prequel and a sequel to The Wizard of Oz. So it’s basically a “quel”. It’s funny and dramatic, spectacular and very well produced. Go watch it!

The audience is very different to the notoriously apathic Belgian public. I heard cheers and whistle blowing during the show. People react, laugh, and applaud. It’s wonderful. We, Belgians, should show more appreciation.

On the other hand, when curtain fell, there was one big standing ovation. But! But it didn’t last long, there were no encores and everyone left very quickly.

Might I also add that many people were dressed to the occasion. Suits and shirts, cocktail dresses. Something we don’t do anymore. That is sad.

I had a wicked time at Wicked!
